The reason you have not seen females in these tv reports is becasue there are no females in the areas that are being covered in these reports. The forward bases in the Korrengal Valley are home to infantry and cav units, there are no support besides cooks there, and so you will not see any females on those bases, the coverage of the patrols coming under fire are combat patrols, females do not do combat patrols, as they are not in combat jobs. Operation Phantom Fury had a crap ton of females in it, but they were in direct support roles, not on the front lines where the cameras where. Thats the underlying factor here, all of the reports you are talking about are combat actions. The media is going to show what sells ad space, so it will be people getting shot at or doing the shooting. Though females do this on occasion, the combat troops do it everyday, so that's where the cameras are gonna be.
