Tonsills not being cured by antibiotics?

I went to the clinic 7 days ago because i woke up and i couldnt even swallow. I was quickly seen by the doctor who told me i had bronchitis which was weird cuz i dont have a cough. He put me on antibiotics (cephalexin) but since then my tonsils have gotten worse. My right tonsil is extremely swollen and has white pus all over it. It's extremely painful to swallow. I have had an on and off fever all week and my gland in my neck is very swollen as well and even hurts when i turn my neck. Since then i have also developed right ear pain. I dont think i have mono because i've become an insomniac rather than tired all the time. Any ideas about the doctor being wrong like i said??
