360 Controller for Brink on PC?

I got Brink for pc uming i could use my 360 controller like i do for many games on pc. However, enabling it doesn't seem to be working the same. Most games will automatically detect the controller and enable it right away, or at the very least have a switch in the options menu. It isn't automatic and I see no switch. Google reveals that most peopl "think" it works, and it should since the game is released on xbox, but i have not seen a definitive no or yes, and if yes, how?
